Chess is an excellent game for kids. It teaches them strategic thinking, logic and it’s fun, too! The origins of chess are not exactly clear, though most believe it evolved from earlier chess-like games played in India almost two thousand years ago. The game of chess as we know it today has been around for more than 500 years!
The Goal of Chess You and your opponent are each in charge of an army. Your goal: to catch the other army’s king (before they catch yours)! When you have him attacked and he can no longer escape, it’s called “checkmate,” and you win! MathPlus School offers various levels of Chess classes:
  • Chess for Beginners
  • Chess for Medium level
  • Chess for High level
Sergey Vertkin – The Honored Master of Sport in Chess – leads Chess classes in MathPlus School. He has many years of experience coaching the junior Olympic team. Many of his students have won championships in Europe and Russia.
Lessons are held on Friday and Saturday at MathPlus school. Tuition Fees depends on the group:
  • 1 student – $55
  • 2 students – $45
  • 3 students – $35
